Laughter, Learning, and Low-Stress Contests: Area 3 Fun Day Recap

Toastmasters Area 3 dialled up the joy and dialled down the pressure with its recent Area 3 Fun Day, an online event designed to bring members together in celebration of storytelling, creativity, and camaraderie. With 20 attendees logging in from across the area, it was a fantastic afternoon of connection and community.

This wasn’t your typical Toastmasters contest day. With no disqualifications, a focus on fun, and a low-stress environment, the event lived up to its name — and then some!

Three Contests, Countless Smiles

The day featured three entertaining contests:

• Tall Tales – where imagination reigned supreme, and stories got wonderfully wild.
• Novice Speakers – giving newer members a relaxed space to shine and gain confidence.
• Interpretive Reading – bringing expressive flair and personality to written works.

Each contest encouraged creativity, laughter, and participation, with plenty of applause and support from the audience.

All Clubs, One Big Family

We were thrilled to have every club in the area join in:

• Pines Toastmasters Club
• Bribie Toastmasters Club
• Caboolture Toastmasters Club
• Alice Springs Toastmasters Club
• Persuasive Toastmasters

Seeing members from across the map come together was a reminder of the power of shared experiences. Whether it was cheering on a Tall Tale or laughing along with a novice speaker, the energy was electric.

More Than a Contest

At its heart, the Area 3 Fun Day wasn’t just about the speeches. It was about networking, building relationships, and celebrating the Toastmasters journey. With no pressure to win or place, members felt free to participate, support one another, and just enjoy the ride.
