Every club meeting in District 69 holds moments of courage, learning, connection and transformation. A new member gives their Ice Breaker speech. A mentor guides someone through a challenging project. A club celebrates 30 years of service to the community. These are more than just everyday Toastmasters moments, they’re powerful stories waiting to be told.

This year, we’re inviting members and clubs across the District to help us capture and share more of these stories.

Stories connect us

Toastmasters isn’t just about speeches and leadership titles! It’s about growth, and the people who help us along the way. When you share a story about how Toastmasters has helped you personally or professionally, you give others the confidence to step forward. When you highlight your club’s culture or achievements, you show guests and future members what’s possible.

Whether you’re a new member, a club officer or someone who’s been around for decades, your experience has value. Stories connect clubs to each other, showcase what makes our District unique, and keep the spirit of Toastmasters alive beyond the meeting room.

What kind of stories are we looking for?

We’re interested in a wide range of stories, from personal breakthroughs to club celebrations, practical tips to leadership lessons. You don’t need to be a writer, and you don’t need to be perfect – you just need to be willing to share.

Here are some examples of stories we’d love to feature:

  • How Toastmasters helped you with confidence, career or communication
  • A themed meeting or club event that worked really well
  • Lessons you learned as a club officer or contest organiser
  • Insights from working through a Pathways project
  • A tribute to a mentor or club leader who made a difference
  • Your experience bringing in new members or welcoming guests

How you can get involved

We’ve made it easy for anyone to contribute. You can write your story directly, or let us know if you’d prefer to be interviewed. We also have a blog toolkit that includes:

  • A submission template
  • Writing prompts to help you get started
  • An interview guide
  • A toolkit for VPPRs to collect stories at the club level

If you have a story in mind – big or small – we’d love to hear it.

A “seemingly” small story can make a big difference

When someone new visits your club’s website, reads a blog or sees your story on social media, they’re not just learning about Toastmasters, they’re deciding if it’s for them. Your story could be the one that makes them feel seen, welcomed and ready to grow.

So think back to a moment that mattered. A speech. A meeting. A connection. Then take the first step to sharing it.

Together, let’s build a library of stories that celebrate the heart of Toastmasters – our people.
