Western Suburbs Toastmasters recently celebrated a major milestone. On the 29th October, the club held their 1000th meeting.

District 69 Governor Marilyn Freeman DTM and Area 19 Governor John Walker ATM-G, were both in attendance, and offered their congratulations.

Club President, Michele Henselien ALB/ACB, had many congratulatory messages to read out. Messages came from as far as International President George Yen DTM, Second Vice President Mike Storkey DTM and Past International President and Western Suburbs member Gavin Blakey DTM OAM.

Many past members, including charter member Jim Lawson, and the first female member of Western Suburbs, Marion Dowling, along with current members, helped celebrate this momentous occasion.

Guest speaker was Toastmaster and professional speaker and author Kevin Ryan DTM. Kevin told everyone how Toastmasters had helped shape his life in many ways.
