Report June 2014
There are just a few days left until the end of our Toastmaster year. Let’s finish it off with the same enthusiasm as we started our year. I hope this year has been a year of growth and learning for you and that you have achieved your goals or made progress in the right direction.
One of our goals for District 69 was Strong Clubs not more Clubs. I thank all of you for your work towards making that a reality for our District. This is not just an annual goal but a long term objective for all our members, all our Clubs and Divisions.
This year has been a huge learning curve for me. We are always learning- even after 20 years. I have been fortunate enough to be part of your District 69 Trio, a strong team. I’ve been supported by six very hard working inspirational Division Governors who have given their all for their members and their Districts. I thank each one of them.
I also want to acknowledge Coral McVean as Chief Coach, Lorraine Keelty Long Service Badges/Banners , Tarja Kelly New Member/New Club kits and Barrie Fuller New Clubs Chairman, aided by Marilyn Freeman, who worked so hard to support District 69. Aro Kia has been a powerhouse in Papua New Guinea driven to share the benefits Toastmasters has given her. Aro has been supported by PNG members, her Division Governor and others of us here in District 69 doing what we can.
So fellow 69ers, let’s leave our Clubs, Areas, Division and District in the best condition we possibly can. Let’s make sure that all our Club Executive lists have been submitted, all memberships have been sent in and we have done all we possibly can for our members. We will then truly be a Distinguished District.
I look forward to seeing you at our District Changeover Dinner on 28th June.
Christine Lennon DTM
Lieutenant Governor Marketing, District 69
