REPORT OF THE LIEUTENTANT GOVERNOR EDUCATION & TRAINING

IAN PINKER DTM

Welcome fellow Toastmasters to another promising year of Toastmasters in District 69.

Having attended a number of the Toastmaster Leadership Institute (TLI) training sessions recently I will take this opportunity to thank all the members of the club executive who attended training and made a commitment to the success of their club. A special thank you to the clubs who had all seven executive members attend training.  That is really is being distinguished.

I would also like to thank the co-ordinators and trainers at these sessions for the outstanding work they do.   The TLI co-ordinators will be invited to attend the September District Executive Training to ensure they are up-to-date on the latest training methods and skills.

Training is an essential part of Toastmasters; it’s how we become better leaders and communicators.

The first responsibility District faced for the year was the District Executive training for our new Division and Area Governors who will serve and lead you, the members.   This was held at the end of June and covered all aspects of their roles with sessions on team and membership building, social media and the TI website, budgeting, presenting Area Conferences and various other vital sessions.

This year we have a strong emphasis on supporting clubs with low membership and an incentive scheme which will encourage these clubs to incorporate items such as Moments of Truth, and Club Success Plan, vital tools for all clubs of course.  This incentive and the Ambassador programme recently announced by TI hopefully will encourage members and clubs to look closely at their club training, educational sessions and club programming to give greater benefits to the member.

Trained members benefit not only their club.  They benefit through improved abilities and skills.  So, participate in training and grow.

Yours in Toastmasters
