We wish Michael well as he progresses to the Region Quarter Finals and we hope on to the International Semi finals then finals.

The International Convention will be fully online again this year, so we will all have the opportunity to watch the International semi finals and finals. In addition, the convention is sure to have a great variety of educational sessions. The election of International leaders is an important part of the Convention. Mark the dates, 23 – 28 August 2021 in your diary.

Club Officer Elections.

This month, all clubs will be holding club officer elections. Elections are due at the first meeting of May. If your club has not held elections yet, please make this your highest priority. Results should be recorded on the TI web site with date of event 1 July.

Club Officer Training (COT)

The Tag line “Where Leaders Are Made” is an important message for us all. Clubs cannot function well without a strong, cohesive leadership team. COT offers an opportunity for us all to gain new skills and to contribute to the success of our clubs, areas, divisions and the district. Experienced club officers should still participate as you will have valuable experience to share with newer club officers. This may also be your opportunity to share your expertise by being a presenter at training.

COT will again be run online to allow maximum participation. PQD, Kevin, is busy forming his team to prepare, produce and present effective training to give all incoming club leaders the chance to make a strong start for the year. Please contact PQD, Kevin, if you have the experience and passion for your role to present some sessions.

Thank you to all outgoing club officers. Your service to your club has been valued.

Area Director Club Visits

CGD, Robert, is monitoring carefully the lodgement of Area Director Club Visit Reports. This is an important avenue for the district to identify members’ needs and requests. It is also an opportunity to identify potential leaders in your clubs. The value is maximised when reports are lodged early.

Let’s Finish Strong!

Are you monitoring your club’s progress in the Distinguished Club Program (DCP)? I am pleased to see each day that we are gaining members and closing the gap between last years’ member payments and our current status.

I am proud to see that we have 38 clubs already achieving distinguished or better.  There are at least 20 clubs that could achieve Distinguished with just one to two more goals or one or two more members. With just 5 weeks left for this Toastmasters year, can your club cross that line? Please check your club status and set your goal.

As we look forward to the coming year, lets plan to overcome the challenges of the last year and celebrate the lessons we have learned and the resilience we have developed.
