Introducing Carolyn Phillips as Lieutenant Governor Marketing
Hi I’m Carolyn and absolutely delighted to be serving District 69 as LGM. The role of LGM looks after members- current and future members. I will focus on a number of aspects of membership for the benefit of clubs in the upcoming year, namely an effective website, signs for the venue to ensure visitors arrive at the right place and an orientation session for new members.
I love the quote from Dr Ralph Smedley: “If we should ever lose the Fellowship of personal, friendly relationships, we might easily become just another high-grade correspondence School. The personal touch, in all levels of our work, is one of its distinguishing features. Our clubs must work hard to sustain a climate of caring and good fun.”
It’s the personal touch that is important at every contact point with members. We are entering an exciting time of re-branding- out with the globe logo, in with new colours, seal and image for our wonderful Toastmasters organisation. This is an appropriate time to consider how to add the personal touch for our members- ensuring they have a truly memorable experience and remain as satisfied members.
Just as clubs have a Distinguished Club Program, so do Areas, Divisions and Districts. The District goal is to grow new clubs and support existing clubs. To this end, I will work in each Division with a New Clubs Coordinator to help start new clubs and a Club Support Coordinator to help clubs under charter strength.
What about Carolyn the person? I enjoy quilting and have recently finished the biggest quilt I’ve ever made- with a musical theme. I live on the outskirts of Brisbane and have got chooks, turkeys and peacocks running around with the dog Kara.
Till next time, take care.
