Ipswich Toastmasters Club proudly celebrates its 600th meeting. The Ipswich Club is the oldest Toastmasters Club in the Ipswich area that now hosts a total of 7 clubs.
The Ipswich Club began way back in 1983 some 27 years ago and over that time countless numbers of people have graduated through the Toastmasters personal development program to go to lead a more rewarding life.
President Keith Cohen said “Toastmasters offers skills in public speaking, communication and leadership but the best reward of all for members is the gain in self confidence. With these skills members go on to achieve more for themselves in all aspects of their lives.” Area Governor John Hutchins presented President Keith Cohen with a special certificate to mark this significant occasion.
The club was very pleased to have Bette Howard, one of the original members of the Ipswich Club and still an active member of Toastmasters with us on the night and Bette shared with Ben McCormick our youngest member the honour of cutting the 600th meeting cake.
