Speaking Courses
Individual Toastmasters Clubs offer short public speaking courses within their local communities. These courses are called Speechcraft.
Courses may also be conducted through the school Adult Education Program, TAFE or U3A. The course costs vary between clubs, depending on the venue.
The Speechcraft programme is designed to develop leadership skills as well as speaking skills in a seminar workshop format. The programme is usually held in a 2 hour session once a week over 4 – 8 weeks.
Participants will gain confidence in communication through writing and delivering speeches, impromptu speaking, effective use of body language and better listening skills.
The programme includes the following exercises:
- Developing impromptu speaking skills
- Delivering prepared speeches
- Practicing parliamentary procedure
- Conducting quality meetings
- Delivering verbal feedback
- Enhancing leadership skills
The programme is run by our Toastmasters Clubs using experienced Toastmasters as facilitators. Participants in our Speechcraft programmes can comprise be a group of individual members of the public or they can be tailored to meet the needs of specific groups or organisations.
